AVAM consists of 4 exhibition rooms and an atelier. These sections were designed to provide a convenient studying area for veterinary students. Beside that the specimens were prepared and demonstrated coherent and aesthetically. Therefore anyone that visits the museum can understand easily.

Specimens for osteology, arthrology, myology and then digestive, respiratory, urogenital and nervous systems are indicated respectively in our museum. Besides, embalmed animals, taxidermy specimens, plastinates and various designs are also demonstrated in AVAM.  Different type of samples belong to the endangered species are also being demonstrated. Finally, to provide an insight to the visitors, the museum atelier has also been opened to visit.

550 specimens belonged to 70 different species have being demonstrated in our museum. The oldest ones are more than 80 years old. The 92% of the specimens are made of real tissues or organs. However, no animals were harmed during the preparation process of the specimens. Samples have been obtained as dead from necropsy labs, experimental animal labs, zoos, breeding farms and national parks.

The most of the specimens have not only a scientific importance but also have historical stories. For instance, the famous turkey which had been presented by Harry TRUMAN, the president of USA, to İsmet İNÖNÜ, the second president of Turkish Republic has being demonstrated in our 1 st exhibition hall.
